The Piedmont Region is the second largest region in georgia and is the most populated. It is where most of georgia's peaches are grown. The forest of the southern Piedmont consitst of mostly oak and hickory trees. It is also home to georgia's capital city Atlanta. It lies between the Blue Ridge region and the Coastal Plain.
